NUVC Alternatives & Competitors in 2026

NUVC scores the deck you already have and shortlists investors for it. Here are the alternatives, ranked by which question they actually answer.

NUVC is a pitch-deck scorer and investor matcher, not an idea validator, and at $99 AUD one-time for unlimited decks it is fairly priced for that job. Pick your alternative by the question you have. Idea still unproven: Preuve AI (free scan, $29 report, $499 investor package). Need the deck itself built: PitchBob. Researching investors directly: Crunchbase or CB Insights. Need the plan and financials a VC will ask for: IdeaBuddy.

Preuve AI

Fix the idea before you polish the deck

NUVC tells you the deck scored 5.8. Preuve tells you whether the market behind it holds up, from 50+ live sources, before you build the deck at all.

Start free with a Reality Check under a minute, no card. The $29 Founder Report is the full pass: 10 parallel AI agents across 50+ live sources, every competitor, funding figure, and demand signal linked back to its origin, 15 sections, up to 15 competitors with funding and pricing, TAM/SAM/SOM, and 3 pivots when the verdict is no, graded against 6,500+ ideas (median 55, only 18.3% earn a go). When you do reach the raise, the $499 Investor Package ships a pitch deck, investment memo, 18-month financial model, and competitive teardown, founder-built and reviewed from your report. What Preuve does not do is match you to investors, that part is NUVC territory.

PitchBob

Build the deck, then find the investors

The closest direct alternative: deck generation plus matching against a 150K+ investor database.

PitchBob covers the step before NUVC and the step after: it generates the pitch deck, business plan, and canvas, then matches you against a 150K+ investor database, at $29.90 to $99.90 one-time. It scores nothing and links no sources, so it will not tell you where the deck is weak the way a NuScore does, but if you do not have a deck yet, NUVC has nothing to read.

Research the investors yourself

4M+ private companies, funding rounds, and investor profiles you can filter by stage, sector, and geography.

If what you want from NUVC is the shortlist and not the score, Crunchbase is the raw version: who funded what, at which stage, in which market, sourced and checkable. It is manual work where NUVC is a match percentage, and Pro runs $49/mo annually, but you are not gated behind a score threshold and the underlying data is the same kind that investor matchers resell.

The long report for the data room

A 40+ page report with sourced data and named comp-sets from public filings.

A NuScore tells you the traction slide is thin. It does not fill it. DimeADozen produces the long-form, sourced market document you can put behind a deck when a VC asks for the working, with comp-sets pulled from public filings. It is the most expensive single-report option here at up to $129, with no cross-checks and no pivots, but the depth is real.

The plan and financials investors ask for

Guided business planning with a canvas, financial projections, and exportable plans.

Two of the fixes NUVC hands back most often are unit economics and go-to-market. IdeaBuddy is the workspace that produces both: a guided canvas, financial projections, and an exportable plan, from $15/mo with a 15-day trial and no card. Nothing in it is source-linked and it does not score against market evidence, so treat it as the drafting tool, not the verdict.

NUVC also sells a VC-side product (Deal Intelligence, free to $499/mo). CB Insights is the incumbent version of that market: company data, funding, market maps, and analyst reports at enterprise pricing (third-party reports indicate roughly $2.5K-$8.3K/mo on annual contracts). Overkill for a founder scoring one deck; the reference point if you are the one screening deals.

Editor’s note

"Score 7.0+ unlocks contacts" vs "Everything included. Forever."

NUVC's homepage says "Score 7.0+ unlocks contacts" and its FAQ repeats that "decks scoring 7.0+ unlock full investor contact details". Its founder pricing page lists "10+ AI-matched investors with contacts" among what $99 AUD buys, with no score caveat and the line "Everything included. Forever." The two are never reconciled, and the site never states what a sub-7.0 paying user actually receives. That matters because their own free benchmark, across 298 decks, puts the average NuScore at 5.8 out of 10, so most first uploads land in exactly the zone the site is ambiguous about. Ask them before paying if the contacts are your reason for buying. And note the deeper limit: a deck scores badly for two very different reasons, the deck is weak or the idea is, and nothing in NUVC reads your market to tell you which.

About NUVC

NUVC (nuvc.ai) is built by two founders in Melbourne and calibrated on Australian venture outcomes, with 1,400+ labelled examples from accelerator results, verified raises, and VC deal memos behind its NuScore. You upload a deck, eight pipeline agents parse and score it across VC dimensions, you see percentile context against funded peers, and you get matched to investors from a 9,000+ list, with full contact details stated to unlock at a score of 7.0 or above. It is a genuinely well-built product for one specific moment: you have a deck and you are about to raise. The tools below are ranked by what they answer instead, because for most founders the deck is not the first thing that is broken.

FAQ

Common questions about NUVC alternatives

What is the best NUVC alternative in 2026?

It depends which half of NUVC you want. For the honest read on whether the business behind the deck holds up, Preuve AI: free Reality Check first, then a $29 full report from 50+ live sources with source-linked claims and a score graded against 6,500+ ideas, plus a $499 Investor Package when you reach the raise. For deck generation plus a wide investor list, PitchBob. For building the investor target list yourself from funding data, Crunchbase.

How much does NUVC cost?

All NUVC prices are in Australian dollars. Founder Pro is $99 AUD one-time for unlimited decks, with a free score preview first and a 7-day no-questions refund. The investor side runs Explorer (free), Professional $499/mo, Team $1,499/mo, and Enterprise on request. Family offices get 3-month pilots from $3,000 or monthly plans at $899, $2,700, and $3,500. The API is advertised at $0.50 per score on the pricing overview but priced at $1.98 per score on the developers page. Preuve AI, in USD, is free to scan and $29 one-time for the full report, with the $499 Investor Package as a separate deliverable.

Is NUVC legit?

It looks like a serious build. NUVC is made in Melbourne by Tick Jiang and Duan Tianyi, publishes its methodology and its agent architecture openly, states that NuScore v5.5 is calibrated on 1,400+ labelled examples from accelerator outcomes, verified raises, and VC deal memos, and publishes an average score (5.8 out of 10 across 298 decks) rather than hiding the distribution. Three caveats worth knowing: the benchmark compares you against funded Australian and New Zealand peers with no non-AU variant, while the investor list spans 82+ countries; the dimension count is written as 5, 6, and 7 across different pages; and the homepage counter animates to roughly 28,000 verified investors while every other page says 9,000+. None of that makes the tool bad, it is a small team shipping fast, but check a number before you quote it.

Will NUVC actually give me investor contacts?

Their site says two things. The homepage and FAQ state that full investor contact details unlock at a NuScore of 7.0 or above. The founder pricing page lists "10+ AI-matched investors with contacts" as included in the $99 AUD purchase, no caveat attached. Since the published benchmark average is 5.8 out of 10, that gap covers most first-time buyers, and NUVC never spells out what a sub-7.0 paying user receives. If the contacts are why you are buying, get that answer in writing first.

Does NUVC validate my idea or just my deck?

Just the deck. NUVC parses your slides and scores how a VC investment committee would read them, then benchmarks that against funded peers. It reads no live market data about your category, so a clear, well-structured deck for a crowded market can score well and a rough deck for a strong market can score badly. Preuve AI answers the other half: 10 parallel agents scan 50+ live sources on the idea itself, name competitors with funding and pricing, size the market, and link every claim to its origin.

Can I use NUVC and Preuve AI together?

They fit together cleanly, and the order matters. Validate the idea with Preuve first (free scan, then the $29 report) so the deck is built on evidence you can defend, use the $499 Investor Package if you want the deck, memo, and 18-month model produced from that evidence, then run the finished deck through NUVC to see how a VC lens scores it and who it matches. Scoring a deck built on an unvalidated idea just tells you the slides are tidy.

Why this list is shorter

Most “top alternatives” lists are 40-item SEO plays with every startup tool ever launched. I only include tools I have actually tested or seen founders use seriously. If a tool is not on this list, it is because it did not clear a minimum quality bar, not because it does not exist.
